Last week, a video circulated in the news showing a teen with cerebral palsy (nervous system disorder) being bullied into lying in a stream so his classmates could use him as a human bridge.
The mother of this Grade 9 boy said it was “shameful other teens stood by and watched without intervening.”
Have you ever witnessed someone being bullied?
Did you do anything to stop it?
Could you have done anything differently? Explain.
Thankfully no, I don’t really know someone who has been bullied before that I've seen in person, but if I were in this situation and I saw the victim getting hurt,I wouldn’t be a bystander, I would go as fast as I could to see a teacher and tell them what the situation was all about, if there were no teachers, I would have no choice to face the bully whether he/she likes it, or not.

DeleteIn my elementary school I have seen some people get bullied I did do something but not in the right way. This one time me and my friend were walking around the school yard and and we saw some random dude who was pretty short and he was being called names and being pushed around so I went up to the guy and shoved him, he then started shoving me back so I punched him. The kid walked away and i got in trouble for causing a fight yet the kid who was bullying didn’t get in trouble and which was really dumb. I could have just talked to the kid nicely in order for me not to get in trouble or “ Cause a fight “. And from that day on I was getting bullied about my weight but I never told anyone or tried to fight them because I didn’t want to get in trouble.
ReplyDeleteNo I have never seen anyone been bullied and even if I have I would go tell a teacher or I would at least try to help them out even though I could just get bullied myself but I have already dealt with bullies because I have been bullied and no one helped me out, but like I said if I ever saw anyone getting hurt or bullied I would definitely try to help them and I hope that it will never happen again.

DeleteWell, I don’t know what to call it but there was this girl at my old school. And she was not the nicest person in the world. What would happen is everyday in the morning I would see her talk to her and be friends with her. Then when I would be playing with my group of friends, I would invite her to come and play (because we were all like friends). But then she would find some kind of thing to pick at me with. Like when I was going to wear my pink jean shorts I called my friend to see if she could wear hers so we could be matching. The next day the mean girl was wearing white jean shorts, me and one of my friends was wearing pink shorts. She just had to find something wrong with it. She said that I was copying her and the girl I planned it with. My friend then went and took her side of it. That would happen everyday, she would turn my friends against me. And everyday I would get mad at her, but after hurd my friends that were supposed to be on the bad girls side would tell me that they were just scared of her.Which kind of made me happy. But it got really annoying because it happened everyday!!! And the thing was everyday I would think that the mean girl was really being nice to me, and I would give her another chance,but then when it was the afternoon and we were with my friends she would totally blow up and be mean again. And when it happened I would always get on her nerves because I made it look like it didn’t bother me.That really got her.But I did go tell the teachers, but it was like the teachers were on her side because when i would go and see a teacher they would say to figure it out and to stop complaining. I was in kindergarden. So the next year, I thot it would be better.It didn’t. So the following year I changed schools. I just feel bad that I left my friends to have to go to school with that mean girl,because for some reason only one of my friends could fend for themselves.
ReplyDeleteNo, thankfully, I have never witnessed someone getting bullied or known someone that ever got bullied or hurt, but if I would witness someone getting bullied I would probably just go and tell a teacher or an adult right away so they can fix the problem. I would tell them what the situation is and how long its been happening.

DeleteIt’s horrible what that boy had to go threw. It doesn’t matter if he had a disorder no-one should have to be used as a bridge. I know the reason the others didn’t help the boy was because of peer-pressure, but they went out of their way to record it, laugh at it and they didn’t even bother to go get a teacher. Just because that boy was different that doesn’t give anyone the right to pick on him. At my old school a guy named LJ was being verbally bullied because he had a lisp and I don’t why but some kids thought that was funny. They called him awful names, I remember he was mad that he was getting bullied, so the other kids said he’d be a school shooter when he grows up. My friends and I would always stand up for LJ, but the only issue is that we were in separate classes LJ and I always talk even though we go to different schools. I told the teachers and our principal but they’d never contact the parents it would always be a talk. They’d never do anything serious about it. I feel like I did everything in my power, but I hope that he is doing good now and that he’s making friends

DeleteI think the person needed that dog to get threw his everyday life and its sad for people with the biases because its hard to have it and see it.The dog is problably his best friend because the dog is the only one that was trained to do that.When someone getting bullied you should tell them to stop especially when he is autistic.

No I have never seen someone get bullied. But if i really think and look back i tell myself that it is impossible that i have never seen someone get bullied. So i probably just told myself i did not want to get involved or i just continued talking with my friends. In primary, we had so many classes about anti-bullying that we never realized if we made someone feel bad. But now if i see someone get bullied i would tell the other person to stop

DeleteI have never seen anyone who has gotten bullied... thankfully. If I ever do see anyone get bullied I will help the person stand up for themselves, I will also invite the person to hangout and or sit with me and my friends at lunch. I honestly probably have seen someone get bullied but I maybe did not notice it was bullying, it maybe came off as a joke to me but they were actually trying to be mean.
ReplyDeleteAt my old school you would not be aboul to see the bullying taking place all the time but you knew that someone is geting bullyed. So you would be aboul to know that nowone liked the school and we the students could nothing one what our school did next. The bullying I did see I tryed to stop it because it was the right thing to do and some of it they would not lisen so they will pay the prix when they get older. I don’t think I could do anything different.
ReplyDeleteAt my elementary there was a lot of bullying like almost everyday and if it was my friend i would usually stand up for them but that never worked because the teachers didn't care at all if a kid was getting bullied. Now that i think of it i probably could of tried a little harder to help my friends from getting bullied but that's a little too late.

DeleteI have not ever witnessed someone being bullied. If someone was, I would of immediately gone to defends that person. Bulliying is not right in ANY WAY!! My choice to do something different would be to not bully the person and let him be. I would stop it and defend the victim. It is not right. People loose their lives everyday for getting bullied, this world has to stop bullying.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen someone being bullied and I should not because bulling should not be present today. If I would have seen a person being bullied I would help the person by making them feel better. I think that we should not be writhing about that because it should not even happen. A person with difficulties like that should be help and not bullied. Bulling should not exist.

I got bullied when i was younger at my old school. No one would help me, no one difende me and not even the teachers i would tell what them what they said and did to me but the just told them to stop. Not even to send them to the office. There was this one time when this girl got mad at for doing nothing, like i sat there and she just got so mad (for no reason) that she said to me “ go away you don't even have a dad”. So a rean out crying of course, like i don't even know why she would say that to me. So i want home and my mom got mad at me when told her the story, and i was like WHAT THE HECK DID I DO NOW. if i saw someone i would so help them because i know what they are going throw.
yes i have witness bulling one to many times sadly and one things that i did in that situation is call elder support or take a stand for the person and that is watch made me how i am today yes i took a couple hits but it was always wort looking at the face of the personne after it all stop the happy look wit no worries and no i find i did the right things to help.
