An important part of my English class is to make you aware of what you post on-line and what it means to be a good digital citizen.
Being a good digital citizen includes:
- being aware of your digital footprints;
- demonstrating safe and respectful online etiquette;
- not cyberbullying, sexting, or posting inappropriate photos and/or videos,
- making important decisions about what to post to social media sites; and,
- not downloading or uploading inappropriate content
For this blog, I would like you to CREATE an important Digital Citizenship message using MEMES!
A meme is a generic message about a behaviour that is passed around on-line.
Using makeameme.org, create a MEME about being a GOOD Digital Citizen.
On the blog site, write an explanation about the meme you've created. Explain why you've chosen that image? Explain the text on your meme! How is your meme effective?
On classroom, I want you to submit your meme by copying and pasting it to a Google document and then TURNING it in!

ReplyDeleteI chose the confession cat because it represents the face your mom, dad, friends, family, teachers, etc. see what you have been posting online. You should never post anything inappropriate or mean (cyber bullying, sexist, or racist) I think that before you post ANYTHING online you should ask yourself if you are okay with your parents seeing it and if you don't think they are then you should not post it.

Do not do something you think other people will get offended by, the internet forever, so be a good citizen to live a good life. Think about others before yourself. Think before you post.

DeleteI chose the meme ‘’howard the alien’’ because he is the best alien i’ve ever seen, it’s an alien dancing to a song by Lil Uzi Vert ‘’Money Longer’’ [don't look up].He represents happiness and joy to dance the way you want.The setup is that he is in front of a green screen.I chose this meme because i had no ideas so my brother just searched it up and said ‘’do this’’.Howard the alien is a legend at dancing also.How my meme is effective, it puts smiles on peoples faces of how cute howard is at dancing.Out of all aliens, he’s the best I’ve seen
ReplyDeleteI choose the meme with Donald Trump trying to say something. I wrote : Treat people the way you would like to be treated. I choose that one because who would want to be friends with someone who you are so nice to but they aren't really that nice back. I don’t find it very nice if people do that.

DeleteI chose the picture of the lego stormtroopers with bats, hitting a horse because it was funny to me. And it was the only picture I could make a text to because all couldn't come up with anything for the others. On my meme it says: This is what happens to someone when you post something mean about them. I chose those words because it was basically all I could come up with, and I think that it kind of chose what people can feel like on the inside if you post something mean about them.
ReplyDeleteI chose the y u no character because i found that it was really funny. On my meme it says when you find out what you posted is there forever i wrote that because not a lot of kids think that before they go posting bad things about others and all that stuff. I find my meme is effective because it tells kids that whatever you posted is out there forever and it really gives a message to the kids to tell them to think before they post.
ReplyDeleteThe reason I chose that image is because it really goes with my text at the top, because whenever you get your first follower you will be very happy and the person is acting like she is happy. My text is “ When you get your first follower on instagram”, I chose that text and I don’t have any social apps on my phone like snapchat, instagram etc. So I would be very happy if I ever get my first follower on insta. My meme is effective to me personally but I don’t think it is to everyone because most people have instagram or snapchat and they would probably say “ So what if you got your first follower, I got like 30 on my first post.”

ReplyDeleteI chose to do this message because not all digital citizens think before they post things and then after they post it they realize what they’ve just done and they can’t get rid of it anymore. I chose a shocked cat because it represents the person's face once they realize how inappropriate and bad their own post actually was. Before you ever post anything, think about how much trouble you’ll get into bye your parents.

DeleteI chose the dog whit that face because that could the reaction of someone when they see bad words or a bad photo to post. The dog is surprise of what he sees and it is not necessarily a good surprise. I chose to rite those words because if you don’t care if everyone sees that post it is because it is ok to post it.
ReplyDeleteI chose the cat relaxing just because it was the truth and it was funny wich that is what a meme is. The person posting will be scared when he post something he nos is the wrong thing which he is doing. The cyber bully will get introble if someone caches him or her and you know that there will be someone one day that will cache you. That can make strease and being tense.

I think this meme is effective because it's a meme that is funny but means a lot. Dont make the big man cry mean to not post anything that make them not feel go about themselves. I put a baby as the picture because its the joke of the meme, it makes them smile but still understand the meme
